LONDON COLLABORATIVE EVENT

The event forms part of the London Collaborative: a new programme aimed at increasing the capacity of London’s public sector to respond to the key strategic challenges facing the capital over the next decade. The programme is based around a Leadership Network made up of over 300 senior managers and policy makers from across London’s local authorities and partner agencies. The Network is currently working to achieve progress in areas including carbon reduction. The findings so far from the Zero Carbon Homes project will be fed into this debate.

9th Nordic Environmental Social Science Conference (NESS) - Knowledge, learning and action for sustainability, London, UK, 10th - 12th June 2009
The 9th Nordic Environmental Social Science Conference (NESS) aims to provide a multi-disciplinary platform for the elaboration and discussion of research on environmental knowledge, learning and action. Being held in London for the first time, the Conference provides a special opportunity for Nordic and British scholars working in the field of environmental social science to meet and talk. London NESS is organized jointly by SYKE and UCL Environment Institute. Jo Williams is co-convening a working group sustainable energy and cities with Yvonne Rydin. She will be presenting some of the findings of the Zero Carbon Homes research at this event.

URBAN BUZZ - SUSTAINABLE CITIES SYMPOSIUM

As part of the Urban Buzz programme, an afternoon symposium is going to be devoted to showcasing what UCL is doing on the general theme of sustainable cities. Dr Jo Williams will be one of the guest speakers talking about the “zero carbon homes” project.
